Estos fueron otros que dieron bastante la tabarra. Recuerdo que con este éxito coincidieron por la época del “Titanic” de Celine Dion y el “Frozen” de Madonna.

Lighthouse Family fueron un dúo británico formado en 1993 por Tunde Baiyewu y el teclista Paul Tucker en Newcastle, Reino Unido, después de conocerse en la universidad.

Con su álbum de debut en 1996, “Ocean Drive”, llegaron a vender 1.6 millones de copias logrando un éxito moderado, por ejemplo, con su tema “Lifted“.

Con su segundo disco de 1997, “Postcards from heaven” alcanzaron notoriedad con el tema “High”, aunque éste no alcanzó número 1 salvo en Australia, quedando en el puesto 4 en las listas británicas.

Su siguiente trabajo del 2001, “Whatever Gets You Through the Day”, pasó algo desapercibido y la banda se disolvió finalmente en el 2003 después de una dura gira promocional de dicho disco.

Así, ambos hombres emprendieron proyectos por separado. Baiyewu se embarcó en una carrera en solitario, publicando el álbum “Tunde” a finales del 2004.

La “Familia del Faro” no consiguió por lo tanto, llegar para quedarse y nos dejaron para el recuerdo muy buenas canciones, como su éxito más notable, “High”, que por ejemplo hace poco salia en la sintonia publicitaria de las cortinas de TVE.
